According to the second law of thermodynamics, heat always flows in the direction of the lower temperature.thermal conductivity, PUR foams also offer high mechanical stability.
This makes them useful as insulation material in roofs, cryotanks or even ships. The plot shows a comparison of a test with an HFM 436 Lambda at room temperature and a GHP 456 Titan®® test down to -160°C. The two results are in perfect agreement. Additionally, the GHP result shows the impact of cell-gas condensation between -50°C and -125°C.
