Introducing the New DMA 523 Eplexor®A High-Force Series for Large and High-Modulus Samples

After having launched the NETZSCH DMA 303 Eplexor in the low-force range, NETZSCH is proud to present a new stand-alone instrument series for dynamic mechanical analysis for high-force capabilities: The DMA 523 Eplexor® High-Force Series for the investigation of metals, ceramics and composites. 

Thanks to their modular design, these new high-force DMA instruments can accommodate add-ons to additionally carry out tests on properties such as fatigue, heat build-up, blow-out and Rolling ResistanceThe rolling resistance is a force resisting the motion when a body is rolling across a surface. This determines the slip resistance of, e.g., car or truck tires.rolling resistance.

The DMA 523 Eplexor® is designed to offer both static and dynamic force levels with a maximum ranging from ± 2000 N to ± 4000 N. This makes it an ideal choice for studying the dynamic-mechanical or simply static properties of rigid samples, including those with larger dimensions and even component parts.

Safety and efficiency are at the forefront of the DMA 523 Eplexor® design. The instrument features a unique blade spring system for effective shock absorption during high-force tests. Moreover, its optimized cooling control ensures minimal liquid nitrogen consumption during sub-ambient temperature operations.

 

Focus on Fatigue Applications

This high-force DMA is especially capable in fatigue tests and heat build-up. Besides the fresh design, the new NETZSCH 523 Eplexor® achieves force levels of up to twelve Kilonewtons, offering unmatched flexibility and robustness for larger samples and higher loads.

There are two types of DMA 523 Eplexor® instruments available, classified according to their force capacities: The DMA 523 Eplexor® 2000 N and DMA 523 Eplexor® 4000 N. These systems have a maximum static force of 6000 Newton. The dynamic force levels range from max. ± 2000 N to max. ± 4000 N:

Flexible, Easily Adjustable and Universally Applicable 

The new DMA Eplexor® series offers unmatched flexibility: It allows for easy upgrades to the basic instruments with a wide variety of additional options and accessories; force sensors are exchangeable, too. With the appropriate hardware and/or software add-ons, which can also be retrofitted, the DMA 523 Eplexor® can be converted into, for example, a Goodrich flexometer (ASTM D623), a 24/7 system with automatic sample changer for up to 160 samples in diverse modi, or an instrument for high-temperature application.  

The high-force Eplexor® DMA instruments consist of two independent drives for static and dynamic force. The static force is generated by a servomotor; the dynamic force by an electrodynamic shaker system. The two drives can be used independently, which allows for the Eplexor® high-force instruments to be used either as classical DMAs or as universal testing machines.
