Easy Software Handling – Tools for Automation of TGA-FT-IR Analytics

In the field of Thermal Analysis, coupling is typically used to characterize the chemical components of the gases released during heating, an approach called Evolved Gas Analysis (EGA). By means of EGA, users gain a deeper insight into the type and composition of the materials.

Common instrument combinations like thermal analyzers with FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometers), MS (Mass Spectrometers) and GC-MS (Gas Chromatograph with a mass spectrometer as detector) provide crucial information about the nature or amount, or both about the gases and vapors evolved during thermal treatment. This makes coupling solutions a perfect tool to better understand processes, prevent safety risks and investigate the thermal stability of materials. EGA therefore offers numerous options to answer questions in the polymer, inorganic and pharmaceutical fields.

About The Rising Role of Automation: Join our Webinars!

In the fast-paced world of scientific research, particularly in analytical laboratories, the advent of automation has become a game changer. Time and manpower become limited sources whereas analytical tasks are increasing.

Join our NETZSCH webinar in Englishon December 5 at 3 PM CET / 9 AM EST to learn more about easy software handling – tools for automation of TGA-FT-IR analytics. After a short introduction of the TGA-FT-IR coupling and discussion of different instrument combinations, focus of this webinar will be on easy and intuitive software handling. The tools for automated programming and analyzing TGA-FT-IR will be presented. At the end, some application examples will prove the versatile use of TGA-FT-IR analytics. As the combination with FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer) has become an absolute must - especially in the polymer-producing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries - NETZSCH Analyzing & Testing has been collaborating with the well-known producer of spectrometers, Bruker Optics, since 1993. Our partner Bruker will hold a webinar – on December 14 – about FT-IR gas analysis, too!

Webinar Title: Quantitative FT-IR-Gas Analysis: As Easy As Can Be (Language: English)

Date and timing: Thursday, Dec 14, 2023 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM CET

The basic principles of FT-IR-based gas analysis are covered in this webinar. They will show how easy it is to define quantification methods for determination of gas concentrations even in complex gas mixtures. Quantification of gas mixtures is performed without the need for calibration measurements. Register here:
