NETZSCH and Fraunhofer ISC: New Cooperation in Battery Recycling

NETZSCH Analyzing & Testing is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC in Würzburg, Germany, as part of the REWIND project. This initiative aims to improve the recyclability of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and promote a sustainable circular economy.

The REWIND project focuses on circular design and direct reuse of battery materials. One key aspect of this collaboration is the advanced state of charge analysis, developed in collaboration with Fraunhofer ISC. This technology enables more precise and efficient battery usage, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. The NETZSCH DSC 300 Caliris® differential scanning calorimeter is used for analyses and research work. The thermal properties of electrode materials with different SOCs (State of Charge) are investigated using NETZSCH DSC and STA instruments.

We are proud to be part of this innovative initiative, which offers not only technological advances, but also sustainable solutions for the future. Together with our partners at Fraunhofer ISC, we aim to redefine the standards for battery recycling and make a significant contribution to environmentally friendly mobility.
