Today, we would like to introduce the NETZSCH Applications Laboratory and its outstanding testing service. Our applications laboratory is providing contract testing services for a wide range of industries and research centers. It is equipped with state-of-the-art testing instruments allowing for a variety of thermal analysis measurements to be carried out including Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA),Dilatometry (DIL),Laser/Light Flash Analysis (LFA), Hyphenated Techniques (EGA) and Rheology – just to name a few.

Why Should you Choose us?

Particularly unique are our highly qualified experts with decades of experience in thermal analysis including coupling techniques, determination of thermophysical properties (TPP: DSC, LFA, DIL, GHP, HFM, SBA) and rheology along with their commitment to consulting and supporting our clients throughout the testing process.

As part of our application measurement service offerings, we look forward to comprehensive discussions prior to determining your individual needs and the most appropriate testing method. Our scientists also guide you through sample preparation, experimental parameters, data analysis and interpretation of the measurement results or root cause analysis in the event of production and quality problems to obtain accurate and reliable results.

Moreover, our laboratory provides customized testing services to meet the specific needs of our clients. At NETZSCH, as a world-leading manufacturer for thermal analysis solutions, our laboratories work closely with clients to develop tailored testing procedures beyond common standard tests. This level of collaboration ensures that clients receive high-quality data relevant to their specific applications.

Examples of possible contract testing measurements
Find here an overview of our contract testing services for applications in the low- and high-temperature range from -170°C up to 2800°C in accordance with standards such as ASTM, DIN or ISO (depending on the method):
  1. Thermal Analysis: Determination of changes in dimension and mass, Phase TransitionsThe term phase transition (or phase change) is most commonly used to describe transitions between the solid, liquid and gaseous states.phase transitions and enthalpies as a function of temperature (methods/instruments: Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetry (TG/TGA), Dilatometry (DIL) including coupling to evolved gas analyzers)
  2. Thermophysical Properties (TPP): Determination of Conductividad TérmicaThermal conductivity (λ with the unit W/(m•K)) describes the transport of energy – in the form of heat – through a body of mass as the result of a temperature gradient (see fig. 1). According to the second law of thermodynamics, heat always flows in the direction of the lower temperature.thermal conductivity, Specific Heat Capacity (cp)Heat capacity is a material-specific physical quantity, determined by the amount of heat supplied to specimen, divided by the resulting temperature increase. The specific heat capacity is related to a unit mass of the specimen.specific heat capacity and thermal expansion coefficient (methods/instruments: Laser/Light Flash Analysis (LFA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Dilatometry (DIL), Heat Flow Meters (HFM), Guarded Hot Plate (GHP) and Guarded Heat Flow Meters (TCT))
  3. Calorimetría de velocidad de Reacción aceleradaThe method describing isothermal and adiabatic test procedures used to detect thermally exothermic decomposition reactions.Accelerating Rate Calorimetry: Analysis of degradation and reaction processes with regard to temperature, dissipated heat and pressure (methods: Accelerating Rate Calorimeter (ARC®) - NETZSCH Analyzing & Testing, Multiple Module Calorimeter (MMC))
  4. Rheology: Determination of the rheological properties of Non-NewtonianA non-Newtonian fluid is one that exhibits a viscosity that varies as a function of the applied shear rate or shear stress.non-Newtonian liquids and soft solids ‒ from formulation to product use (methods/instruments: Rotational and Capillary Rheometers)
