Easy Software Handling – Tools for Automation of TGA-FT-IR Analytics
In the field of Thermal Analysis, coupling is typically used to characterize the chemical components of the gases released during heating, an approach called Evolved Gas Analysis (EGA). By means of EGA, users gain a deeper insight into the type and composition of the materials.
Common instrument combinations like thermal analyzers with FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometers), MS (Mass Spectrometers) and GC-MS (Gas Chromatograph with a mass spectrometer as detector) provide crucial information about the nature or amount, or both about the gases and vapors evolved during thermal treatment. This makes coupling solutions a perfect tool to better understand processes, prevent safety risks and investigate the thermal stability of materials. EGA therefore offers numerous options to answer questions in the polymer, inorganic and pharmaceutical fields.
